FINALLY! One of my favorite breweries on the planet is British brewer Wychwood. Their flagship Hobgoblin Dark Ale is a fine full flavored brew. Their triple hopped Wychcraft is a total delight. They import a few other gems as well including Scarecrow (In the UK it's called Circlemaster) and an exquisite wheat beer called Fiddler's Elbow. They make a fine all around product, and have a fun fantasy spirit to their naming and labeling. They call themselves "Brewers of Character"
On their website last spring http://www.wychwood.com/ They announced a new hard cider, Green Goblin. As a longtime fan of good Cider I jumped and clicked my heels with delight, only to find they had no plans at the time to export it to the states. OUCH!
I called the importer they use in the USA to no avail. I emailed the brewery itself and was at first told there were no plans to ship overseas, and then later that in "sometime late 2008" I "might" be able to taste their product. I've asked around of friends I knew had contacts or traveled to England but nothing had panned out.
Til Saturday night....Olga, One of my Druid grove now lives in England and had come to visit for a few days. Unfortunately I was unable to attend the camping trip she attended on the Grove Land, and I did not get a chance to see her. Thoughts of Green Goblin has slipped to the back of my head. What I did not know was Olga had brought a a bottle of the afore mentioned apple nectar. It was presented to me at our Monthly Mistletoe Ritual. (How appropriate to receive it at a gathering of Community). It's everything I'd hoped for and more! A fine full bodied, but not over sweet flavor, with a clean, crisp, light finish that highlights the oak cask aging. WONDERFUL stuff!! Thank you Olga!
Now if I can just find a way to get hold of a case! or two.. or three...or............

thankful
